Saved to the cloud
Everything you write is saved to the cloud on its own, so you can open it on another computer or your phone and lose nothing if this browser’s data is cleared. On the free desk, your writing is saved only in this browser, and it can be cleared if you don’t open the site for 7 days.
Illustrations for your chapters
Plus gives you 20 drawing credits every month, for chapter illustrations and pictures of your characters and places. Spend one, and NovelDesk reads a chapter and draws a picture of it in watercolor, pencil, ink wash or etching, above the text or beside it. Redraw or change the style while your credits last.
Room for every book
The free desk holds two manuscripts of up to 30 chapters each and shows the last 7 days of versions. Plus lifts both limits, keeps every version of every chapter, and exports to Word, EPUB and PDF for print or submission.
Publish your chapters
Choose chapters and publish them as a reading page at read.noveldesk.app, with a link to share and a count of how many people read each one. When you cancel, you choose whether your pages stay online. Updating them and the reader counts need Plus.

Questions about Plus
What happens to my writing on the free desk?
On the free desk, your writing is saved only in this browser. If the browser clears this site’s data (Safari does after 7 days without a visit), the writing goes with it. With Plus, everything is saved to the cloud. Save a backup file now and then, and keep it somewhere other than this browser.
What happens if I cancel?
Your writing stays in this browser and you can keep working on it. From then on, new writing is kept only there, where it can be cleared if you don’t open the site for 7 days. The free desk limits only stop you adding a third manuscript or a 31st chapter; everything already there stays open to write in, export and back up. What you saved to the cloud stops updating and stays on our server for you to download or delete, and published pages are taken down when Plus ends, unless you chose to keep them online.
What happens to my published pages?
When you cancel, the Account page asks: take them down when Plus ends, or keep them online. With no answer they’re taken down. Until Plus ends you can change this there. Pages you keep stay up until you take them down; updating them and seeing reader counts need Plus again.
Do unused drawing credits roll over?
No. You get 20 on the 1st of every month, and each drawing or redraw uses one. If a drawing fails, the credit comes back.
Can I switch between monthly and yearly?
Yes, in Manage billing, which opens Polar’s customer portal. You can change plan, update your card, see invoices or cancel there.
